The Price family arrived on Vancouver Island circa 1912. The park is named for the Price family; brothers Doug, Don, Hugh, Eric, Basil; sisters Enid, Rita, Dorothy; and parents Emma and Alexander John (AJ) who built a house on Price Road in 1932/33. The town-site at that time only extended from the Community Hall and Yount Elementary School west to the mill site.
After returning from the war, Douglas and wife Betty bought the house from AJ while other members of the family continued to build houses and live on the property. To this day there are many descendants of the Price family living on Vancouver Island, across BC and into Alberta.
