Summer drought is the ‘new normal’ in the Cowichan Valley. The CVRD's New Normal website provides updates on current drought conditions, along with information and tools that make adapting to the ‘new normal’ easier.

When we are experiencing drought conditions, there are a number of steps you can take to conserve water and prepare yourself to deal with the lack of water.

  • There are four stages of water restrictions which are co-ordinated across the Cowichan Valley.
  • Local conditions may sometimes require a higher stage of water restrictions on certain systems.
