Cobble Hill Mountain Regional Recreation Area is a popular destination for hiking, horseback riding and mountain biking. The Recreation Area is made up of 26 kilometers of signed trails ranging in difficulty from easy, technical single-track to double-track mountain bike trails. These trails lead through a variety of forest ecosystems and feature several viewpoints that collectively offer a 360 degree view of the surrounding area.
The trailhead for Cobble Hill Mountain is located within Quarry Nature Park, which provides parking for vehicles and horse trailers, a washroom building with bike wash, a bicycle skills park and an off-leash dog park.
From Nanaimo: West off the Trans-Canada Highway onto Shawnigan Lake/Cobble Hill Road and right onto Empress Avenue into Quarry Nature Park.
From Victoria: West off the Trans-Canada Highway onto Hutchinson Road and right onto Shawnigan Lake/Cobble Hill Road, then immediate left onto Empress Avenue.
