Cowichan 2018 BC Summer Games Board of Directors Announced
Duncan, BC – The Cowichan Valley Regional District (CVRD) is pleased to announce the group of community leaders who will develop the vision for the 2018 BC Summer Games, to be held in the Cowichan region from July 19 – 22, 2018. This team will lead the planning and organization for the Games. Along with previously announced President Jennifer Woike and Vice President Mona Kaiser, 14 directorates with various areas of responsibility now have appointed leaders.
“I would like to thank all the volunteers for offering their time and talents,” said Board Chair Jon Lefebure. “This will be a very strong team.”

“I have thoroughly enjoyed the process of vetting and selecting the Board Members for the 2018 BC Summer Games,” said President Jennifer Woike. “I was always in awe with the immense amount of talent we have in the Cowichan Region. We have a strong, dedicated, talented group of individuals and we have been lucky enough to secure 15 of them to work with Mona and me.”
The BC Summer Games are a celebration of sport and community, and will feature developing athletes, supported by coaches and officials. Over 3,000 volunteers will be needed to stage the Games, which is anticipated to infuse over $2 million into the local economy.
“This strong leadership team will continue the legacy of successful Games in the Cowichan Valley,” said BC Games Society President and CEO, Kelly Mann. “By featuring the culture and hospitality that the community is so well known for, BC’s best young athletes and coaches will benefit greatly and have the experience of a lifetime while celebrating sport.”
