Cowichan’s new hospital celebrates name, construction progress

As part of ongoing work to incorporate Indigenous perspectives into healing, the new Cowichan hospital will carry a Hul'q'umi'num' and English dual name. The new name will be Quw’utsun Valley Hospital/Quw’utsun Hulitun-ew’t-hw.

CVRD calls on Province of BC to include mattresses in Extended Producer Responsibility program

The CVRD Board has approved an increase to the mattress tipping fee from $18 to $32 per unit for the 2026 budget year, which will put more cost on the end user and decrease the tax requisition shared by taxpayers across the region.
