This April, let's celebrate Earth Day all month long by cleaning up the Cowichan region. The CVRD is supporting community groups cleaning up litter and preventing illegal dumping around the region. If you are interested in volunteering, check out the calendar below of clean-ups happening in different Cowichan communities. If you're a community organizer who has planned a clean-up, or would like to plan one, please contact Chloe Boyle for more information.

Illegal dumping prevention
If you see someone committing illegal dumping, do not endanger yourself by approaching. Instead, record and report identifying information to increase the chances that the person responsible will be caught and fined. Report all polluters to the Ministry of Environment RAPP line by dialing #7277 on a cell phone, calling toll free 1.877.952.7277, or using the online reporting form.
