As of Friday night, the Mt Hayes wildfire continues to be contained by the BC Wildfire Service with no substantial growth reported throughout the day. Quieter and changing wind patterns are expected overnight and area residents may anticipate seeing increased smoke over Ladysmith on Saturday. 

BC Wildfire Service is expected to deploy similar resources tomorrow for combatting the fire.
