Emergency Management Cowichan is hosting an Emergency Preparedness Expo on Saturday May 3rd at Transfer Beach in Ladysmith from 10:00am to 2:00pm. This fun, family event will kick off emergency preparedness week (May 4-10), and is a great way to meet local emergency responders and emergency support organizations, as well as learn how to build resilience and prepare for the types of emergencies that we are likely to face in the Cowichan region.

Try out the Quaker Cottage Earthquake Simulator. There will be a number of organizations participating including BC Earthquake Alliance, Ladysmith Fire Rescue, Ladysmith Ground Search and Rescue, North Oyster Fire Rescue, Marine Search and Rescue Stations 29 & 34, Emergency Management Cowichan, BC Wildfire Service, BC Ambulance, Island Health/Health Emergency Management BC, Scouts Canada, Canadian Coast Guard and RCMP. Food trucks will be on site and there will also be plenty of giveaways.
